Woke up wanting a banh mi and drove 35 minutes for one. This tiny place has big flavors. The banh mi was fresh, crispy, flavorful and a 10/10. I had a pineapple drink that’s like nothing I’ve ever drank. I will most definitely be going back soon to try other menu items 🤟

I had a bad experience with another Vietnamese place in downtown Albany so I was looking for somewhere else and I found this little gem, Ben Thanh in Watervilet. I have to say the man and woman that work (own?) there they are so friendly and kind. The food was some of the best I've ever had of any cuisine type. I also appreciated that they made everything fresh for me, even hand rolled my summer tolls. I don't eat meat so it was amazing that they had so many vegetarian options. My portions were large and just taste so yummy! The wait for fresh food and price were fair. This is new go to spot. I can't recommend highly enough!

Hands down, the best Vietnamese casual food we’ve found in the states.  The TOFU Banh Mi is exceptional and the Beef Pho is very flavorful (without being too salty).  We’ve been ordering from Ben Thanh since they opened and are always delighted at the consistent quality and clean taste of all their food.  Also we love the pineapple cookies when they are available and at their best--the filling, when at its best, rivals the best found in Taiwan (high praise).  Also the on-line ordering, a more recent addition, has definitely improved efficiency.  These folks know what they are doing!

The owner is very hospitable, nice noodle, they can have more tables in the restaurant. I like their light decorations. By the way, Montreal offer best Vietnamese noodle!

Pho and Chicken Bánh Mì was freaking delicious. Crispy bread, seasoned shredded chicken and fresh veggies makes for an explosion of flavors! Everyone needs to go there and try it for yourself ASAP!
